Why Choose Us?
My friend and I did this tour with Phu and one of his colleague a few weeks ago. It was a highlight of our trip in Vietnam. His tour is unique, unlike the products of a lot of the major tour companies which is a huge plus. He responds very quickly and is so warm and friendly. Not only was spending the day together a pleasure but organising it was painless. We loved it and I have to say the secluded waterfall he takes you to swim is really a special treat. Phu is a very impressive entrepreneur and we wish him every success in the future- I can’t recommend his tour enough.
My wife and I knew we needed to get to Hue to Hoi An. Do we take a bus/sleeper bus? Taxi? Then we saw/read about motorbike tours and thought, that might be interesting. Being budget travelers this was kind of a splurge for us. We knew that public transportation would be cheaper, but we thought, this could be awesome. So we contacted our friend who had done a 3 day tour with a company he liked and connected us to Hoi An Motorbike Tour Adventures. We emailed them and Mr. Phu got back to us asap. We told him where we needed to go (because what we wanted/needed wasn’t online) and we were able to negotiate with him a day tour from Hue to Hoi An for $62 a person. Again, this was a splurge for us but we soon found out it was worth it. Notes: the price for the tour included all food, drinks, and tickets for any stops.
Phu and Bat met us at our Airbnb in Hue promptly at 8:30am. From there they packed up the bikes and we were off. The first stop was to Phu’s village where he grew up. It was neat to learn from him about how they grow mushrooms and nice to meet his mother and father. After that we visited his brother in-law, a local craftsman who works with marble. From there we made several other stops to Bat’s village where he grew up, Elephant Waterfall (a local river/swimming area), lunch on a lake, the top of Hai Van pass, coffee and tea at a view bar, and then walking around (with a lot of stairs) around the Marble Mountain area.
What’s great about Phu and Bat is the pace of the whole day. Yes it was a full day from 8:30am – 5:30pm but we stopped to rest many times and got lots of opportunities for pictures, drink water/coffee/tea, and bathroom breaks when needed. These are great hosts that are passionate about helping you as guests have a great time and to help you learn a little bit about central Vietnam along the way.
We can’t say enough great things about Phu, Bat, and the entire experience and are looking forward to doing another one of these tours next time we visit, hopefully a longer one. If you are even remotely interested, email them and tell them what you’d like and they’ll help put something together for you,
